Abstract

Hydroxyapatite film (HA) fabricated by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method could be utilized in the biomedical implant field due to its close chemical composition and crystallographic structure resemblance with mineral phase of vertebrate bones.

 

PLD is a practical and simple thin film synthesized method, the performance of the technqiue could make complement of drawbacks in HA coating mechanical properties. Combination of implantology and advanced laser technology could effectively increase the implant biocompatibility and reduce the risk for revision surgery.
