MNMT-Dublin Symposium
MNMT-Dublin Symposium is a series of events on latest developments of design, manufacturing, metrology, and applications in bio-medical, photonic, optic, and relevant areas organized by UCD Centre of Micro/nano Manufacturing Technology since 2016.
INVITED SPEAKER
Prof. Kenneth Dawson
Prof Kenneth A. Dawson is recognized as a leading thinker on the principles governing the interactions of nanoscale entities with living organisms, and implications for bionanoscience. He is the founder of the modern conception of the ‘protein (biomolecular) corona’ responsible for the biological identity of engineered nanoparticles.
MNMT-Dublin Symposium VI: The Interactions of Nanoparticles with Living Systems
On 19th December 2018, Professor Kenneth A. Dawson was invited to give a lecture in the MNMT-Dublin Symposium on how to understand the interaction of nanoparticles with living systems. The lecture explained the controlling of these interactions and relevant applications in nanotherapeutics and nanosafety.

Professor Kenneth A. Dawson is the Director of the Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI). His professional roles include representing Ireland on various international bodies, including the OECD and ISO working groups on standards in nanotechnology. He has been an advisor on nanoscience matters in the EU New Risk Committee of the European Commission, as well as the Advisory group of the European Medicines Agency, as a Highly Cited Researcher for 2018, he is among an elite group recognized for exceptional research performance demonstrated by production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science.
